Mavis Hawa Koomson, the Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, has vowed to ensure a peaceful and violence-free election in her constituency.

The pledge follows an incident of gun violence during the 2020 elections at the Steps to Christ Centre, where several individuals were injured, nearly disrupting the electoral process.

Speaking after leading a large crowd through key streets of the constituency, the MP reiterated her commitment to maintaining peace during the upcoming December elections.

Since the 2020 incident, Hawa Koomson has consistently expressed her determination to ensure a fair and orderly election in 2024.

During the walk, which took place in Kasoa, the MP emphasized her dedication to a peaceful electoral process. She assured supporters that even if faced with aggression from opponents, she would prioritize peace and resist any form of violence.

Hawa Koomson affirmed her readiness for the 2024 elections, expressing confidence in her chances while underscoring the importance of a non-violent campaign.

Samuel Abu Jinapor, the Member of Parliament for Damongo and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, praised Hawa Koomson’s achievements and urged constituents to continue supporting her.

He highlighted her significant contributions both as MP and in her former role as Minister for Special Development Initiative, where she played a key role in the distribution of ambulances to all constituencies.

Jinapor expressed confidence that Hawa Koomson would continue to bring positive change to Awutu Senya East if re-elected.
