Alan Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change, has pledged to introduce comprehensive initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of residents in Zongo communities if he is elected.

A key aspect of these initiatives is the integration of Arabic school teachers into the Ghana Education Service (GES), ensuring they receive regular salaries for their essential work.

Kyerematen also promised to enroll teachers at Arabic schools (Makaranta) in a government salary scheme should he become president.

He expressed concern that Makaranta teachers are not currently recognized as part of the GES, despite the fact that “teachers are teachers all over the world.” He committed to ensuring their integration into the GES if he assumes office.

Speaking at the launch of Zumunta, the Zongo wing of his party, Kyerematen criticized both the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) for neglecting Zongo communities, despite the significant support they have received from these communities during elections.

In Darkuman, within the Ablekuma North Constituency, Kyerematen was greeted by a large crowd of supporters. He met with local leaders, including Chiefs and Imams, to gather support for his presidential bid.

The electorate expressed strong backing for Kyerematen’s candidacy, citing fatigue with the dominance of the NPP and NDC.

Leaders of allied parties and movements also encouraged voters to support Kyerematen, highlighting the need for change and his vision for a better Ghana.
