EC affirms robustness of 2024 voters’ register, dismisses opposition claims
The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has strongly affirmed the credibility and robustness of the 2024 Voters’ Register, urging the public to disregard any claims that suggest otherwise.
In a statement posted on X, the Commission assured citizens that it is fully reliable and prepared for the upcoming elections.
This assurance comes in response to the opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), raising concerns about alleged discrepancies in the register that they believe need to be addressed before the elections.
NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama called on the EC to take immediate action to protect the integrity of the electoral process.
During a campaign stop in Adjen Kotoku within the Amasaman constituency, Mahama highlighted issues such as missing names, unauthorized transfers of voter details, and instances of multiple registrations still appearing on the register.
The EC, however, has reiterated that the 2024 Voters’ Register is robust and credible, advising the public to ignore any assertions to the contrary.
