Independent MP Candidate Withdraws from Wassa East Race

Daniel Affum-Darkwah, an independent candidate vying for the Wassa East parliamentary seat, has suspended his campaign and withdrawn from the December 7, 2024, election.

In a statement, Affum-Darkwah cited challenging circumstances, including a 50/50 chance of winning, as reasons for his decision. Despite gaining popularity for his charitable efforts, many voters remained loyal to traditional parties, making the contest difficult.

Affum-Darkwah thanked his campaign team and apologized to supporters, assuring them of his continued commitment to serving the community. He announced that his club, TSC, will allocate GHC 300,000+ initially intended for the campaign to provide interest-free loans and support community development projects.

Affum-Darkwah endorsed Nana Kwame Bediaku for President, demonstrating his ongoing passion for driving change in Ghana.

He promised to continue serving and supporting the community, hoping for future opportunities to represent them.
