PNC Ends Nominations, Begins Vetting Process for Aspirants

With the People’s National Convention (PNC) Congress approaching this Saturday, the party has officially closed the nomination period, setting the stage for the vetting of candidates.

The vetting will take place over two days, with Thursday and Friday reserved for evaluating the 17 candidates who have applied for various positions. The process will be divided into two sessions: Thursday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the first group, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM for the second group.

Among the notable candidates are Bernard Anbataayela Mornah and David Apasera, both contending for the flagbearer position. Hajia Hajara Ali and Asaki Awingobit are running for Chairmanship, while Awudu Ishak and Yakubu Fahrudeen are competing for the role of General Secretary.

Other positions include National Organiser, with Abass Nuhu and Daniel Nii Noi Osekine as candidates; Women’s Organiser, with Christiana Fugah and Esther Osei; Youth Organiser, with Mark Ewusi Arko and Alidu Mohammed Nasirdeen; and Treasurer, with Emmanuel Akazabre running unopposed.

Several candidates are also vying for deputy positions such as Vice Chairman, Assistant Secretary, Assistant Organiser, and Deputy Women’s Organiser.

The Congress Committee has pledged to ensure a transparent, democratic, and effective vetting process to finalize the party’s leadership ahead of the national congress.
