“You have to trust his words” -Dr. Gideon Boako urges Ghanaians to trust Dr. Bawumia’s promises
Dr. Gideon Boako, the spokesperson for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has called on Ghanaians to place their trust in the promises made by the NPP flagbearer as the 2024 general elections draw near.
During an interview on Accra-based Citi FM, Dr. Boako emphasized that Dr. Bawumia’s proven track record demonstrates his commitment and capability to lead the nation effectively.
He pointed out that, despite criticisms of the economy being “run down,” the current administration has achieved substantial progress under Dr. Bawumia’s leadership. Dr. Boako cited examples such as job creation, extensive road construction, and the implementation of free senior high school education as evidence of the government’s accomplishments.
“You have to trust his words and I can tell you one thing an economy that has been run down cannot be the economy to create the largest number of jobs in the country.
“The economy that has been run to the ground cannot be the economy that has constructed the longest kilometres of roads in this country since 1992.
“An economy that has been run to the ground cannot be the economy to have been the only government to provide free senior high school education to the Ghanaian people,” he stated.
Dr. Gideon Boako further highlighted that the NPP administration, under Dr. Bawumia, has successfully restored initiatives like teacher and nursing trainee allowances, which were canceled by previous governments. He urged the public to consider these achievements when evaluating the NPP‘s promises for the future.
“The economy that has been run to the ground cannot be the government that has been able to restore things that have been cancelled in previous governments [like] teacher trainee allowance, nursing trainee allowances.”
