IGP assures readiness to maintain order during December elections

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has assured the public of the Ghana Police Service’s preparedness to maintain law and order throughout the upcoming December elections.

Speaking at the Electoral Commission headquarters in Accra on Monday, Dr. Dampare emphasized that the police are committed to ensuring peace and security before, during, and after the elections.

He confirmed that personnel would be deployed to all polling centers where the voter exhibition exercise is taking place.

He further urged all stakeholders to remain calm and cooperate with the Electoral Commission as it works to address any challenges that may arise, stressing the importance of everyone acting within the law to ensure that Ghana emerges successful at the end of the election process.
