The Ghana Police Service has interdicted two officers, Lance Corporal Philimon Agbevem and Lance Corporal Peter Gbadagbo, following allegations of extortion from a motor pillion rider in Accra.
The incident, which reportedly took place on July 22, 2024, has drawn significant public attention.
In a brief statement, the police confirmed that the two officers were placed under immediate investigation on August 9, 2024, after the allegations went viral and caught the attention of the police leadership.
The statement further noted that both officers are currently assisting with the investigation and will be subjected to the due legal process.
