Locked-up investment holders stage their 12th protest to demand payment

Members of the Locked-Up Investment Holders Forum have staged their twelfth protest outside the Ministry of Finance, demanding the release of their locked-up funds.

The group has warned that they may occupy the Finance Ministry indefinitely if the government does not provide assurances from the Finance Minister.

” We have told them we will come there every Wednesday to find out what is happening. Unless we put pressure on the Ministry, the Ministry I believe is not going to do anything because that’s what has been happening.

You write letters, but they don’t even acknowledge the letter, apart from the Secretary stamping the letter, no letter comes from the Ministry that we have received your letter,” Dr. Anane Antwi stated.

Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, the Forum’s Convenor, expressed concern over the lack of communication with the Finance Ministry.

” Call us, engage us and talk to us, nobody is calling us,” He added.

He urged the government to use part of the unallocated 200 million cedis from the 4 billion cedis set aside for financial sector challenges, including the 2.3 billion cedis designated for NIB’s capitalization, to address the issue of locked-up funds.
