Franklin Cudjoe Backs Mahama’s Anti-Corruption Commitment
Franklin Cudjoe, President of IMANI Africa, has expressed confidence in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s dedication to fighting corruption if elected president.
Cudjoe’s endorsement came after Mahama’s recent town hall conversation at the Bukom Boxing Arena on August 12, where the former president pledged to hold public office holders accountable as part of his broader anti-corruption strategy.
Despite facing criticism, particularly from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Cudjoe told Citi News that he believes Mahama can be trusted to follow through on his commitment to tackling corruption.
He contrasted Mahama’s stance with the track record of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, noting that the current president has not delivered on similar promises.
Cudjoe pointed out that while caution is always warranted, his trust in Mahama’s ability to address corruption is stronger than in Akufo-Addo, whose presidency, according to Cudjoe, has been marked by unfulfilled promises and a lack of decisive action on critical issues like illegal mining and economic reforms.
