Naana Opoku-Agyemang was not abandoned by market women in Winneba -Campaign team
The campaign team for Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, the running mate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has firmly denied reports that she was abandoned by market women during her visit to Winneba in the Central region.
Responding to allegations that Prof. Opoku-Agyemang fled from the Winneba market, the team released a statement on Monday, dismissing the claims as false and baseless.
“The publication is false, baseless, and a figment of the fertile imagination of its author,” the statement read.
According to the team, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang had a successful campaign tour in Winneba, where she visited market women, interacted with shoppers and lorry drivers, and was warmly received by the public.
“She also drove through some principal streets of Winneba and was given a rousing welcome,” the statement continued.
At the Winneba Lorry Station, Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang addressed a well-attended rally, where she spoke about the NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour Economy policy and plans to support about one million women in business through the forthcoming Women’s Development Bank initiative.
The campaign team also clarified that the Member of Parliament for Effutu was not present at the market at the same time as Prof. Opoku-Agyemang.
They urged Ghanaians to disregard the false reports.
