Herbert Krapa Lauds New GNPC Headquarters in Takoradi as a Boost to Operational Efficiency and Local Economy

Minister of State at the Energy Ministry, Herbert Krapa is convinced that the newly built GNPC operational headquarters in Takoradi will contribute to the operational activities of the Corporation.

Speaking at the commissioning of the GNPC operational edifice in Takoradi, Mr. Herbert Krapa was thankful to President Akuffo Addo for his visionary leadership in creating a synergy between offshore activities and corporations for an expedited workflow in petroleum operations.

According to him, the local economy will benefit from the resources.

“Your establishing GNPC’s operational head office here in the Western Region, where our offshore Oil and gas resources are allocated only underscores your desire for synergy between our offshore activities and GNPCs operations for an expedited workflow in our petroleum operation while ensuring that the local committee benefits directly from the resources they host.

Something I know you remain unapologetically committed to. Mr. President, your strategic vision of having an operational office, here in Takoradi will make GNPC more efficient and more responsive in managing our oil and gas resources,”

He added, “Mr. President, your vision will instantly impact the local economy, here in Takoradi and the Western region. This project’s indirect and direct benefits are about to change the lives of hundreds of thousands of people.”

Mr. Krapa revealed that there has been a steady increase in oil production, citing some oilfields’ contribution to national revenue.

“I’m happy to say that we have seen a steady increase in oil production since we made commercial discovery, Jubilee, TEIN, and Sankofa Gye Nyame have contributed significantly to national revenue. development,” He said.
