The Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (ASPAWAP) has announced another upward increment in the prices of sachet water.
According to the Association, effective Thursday, August 1, a bag of sachet water, is to be sold at 10 cedis maximum from the retail trucks.
The group, however, recommend that the price of sachet water remain unchanged at 50 pesewas.
Explaining reasons for the recommended increases on Spice FM, the Western Regional Administrator of the Sachet and Package Water Producers, Benjamin Nana Sam Brew, cited fuel prices, the high cost of raw materials and the depreciation of the cedi.
Mr. Brew further appealed to the government to review the tax policies on the packaged water industry to help reduce the financial burden to save the industry.
