Minority seeks transparency on DRIP equipment costs
The Minority Caucus in Parliament has requested detailed information regarding the prices of road construction equipment under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP).
Launched on Wednesday, July 31, DRIP aims to tackle road maintenance challenges by collaborating with Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and providing them with earth-moving equipment.
In a statement signed by Mahama Ayariga, the Ranking Member of the Committee on Information and Communication, the Minority has invoked section 18 of the Rights to Information Act, 2019 (Act 989) to request comprehensive price information.
The Minority demands the cost of each unit of equipment procured for DRIP, the payment schedule for the equipment, and the total payments made for the equipment to date, among other details.
