Duker Calls for Support for Atlantic Lithium
Deputy Lands Minister, Hon. George Mireku Duker, has called on stakeholders and traditional authorities to ensure the sustainability of Atlantic Lithium Limited’s operations in Ghana.
He emphasized the economic benefits and job opportunities the company will bring to the Central region and the country.
During a visit to the mine site, Hon. Duker highlighted the favourable terms of Atlantic Lithium’s mining lease, including a 13% state-carried interest and a 10% royalty regime. He commended the company for adhering to local content policies and employing Ghanaians in managerial positions.
The General Manager of Atlantic Lithium, Mr. Ahmed Salim, updated the delegation on the company’s operations and appealed for parliamentary ratification of the lease agreement to commence commercial operations next year.
The delegation, including officials from the Ministry and Minerals Commission, also visited the family of a recent accident victim at the mine.
