NAGRAT calls for removal of NASIA Executive Director

NAGRAT

The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) is demanding the removal of Dr. Haggar Hilda Ampadu, Executive Director of the National Schools Inspectorate Authority (NASIA).

NAGRAT claims that NASIA has failed to collaborate effectively with various teacher unions.

The association also questions why the authority has sidelined trained teachers under the Ghana Education Service for school inspections.

NAGRAT President Angel Carbonu stated that Dr. Ampadu should be replaced with a more competent individual.

Carbonu expressed concerns about NASIA’s practices, including fee collection and the lack of quarterly inspection reports.

He highlighted that NASIA has not held any meetings with teacher representatives since its formation six years ago, despite multiple attempts to engage with its leadership.

Carbonu urged the government to appoint a new leader for NASIA to improve its operations and collaboration with teachers.
