Isaac Adongo Rejects Debate Between Mahama and Bawumia

Isaac Adongo, a Ranking Member of Parliament’s Finance Committee, has stated that National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer John Dramani Mahama will not engage in a debate with New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Adongo cited Bawumia’s perceived dishonesty and incompetence, claiming the Vice President’s career is failing.

This statement follows a challenge from Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who suggested that a debate between Mahama and Bawumia would provide Mahama an opportunity to highlight the government’s failures.

However, Adongo, in an interview, countered that Bawumia has failed as Vice President and lacks credibility.

Adongo questioned why President Akufo-Addo avoided debating Mahama in 2020, implying it might have been due to unpreparedness or fear of exposure.

He challenged Bawumia to address the press and account for his actions, as Mahama has done, rather than seeking a debate to revive his career.
