The Western Regional Minister and Member of Parliament for Takoradi Constituency Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah has charged members of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) branch of the Holy Child College Of Education to work hard for the ruling New Patriotic Party, NPP.
According to HON. KWABENA OKYERE DARKO-MENSAH, the youth who are members of the TESCON working hard for the party would one day be rewarded by members of the New Patriotic Party.
Hon. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah highlighted that the tertiary students must take the NPP as a serious political party aside from engaging in politics seriously.
The Takoradi Member of Parliament emphatically alerted the Holy Child College Of Education teacher trainees that the governing NPP is the only party that can save, and develop the country and provide jobs for the youth.
He continued that the TESCON members of the New Patriotic Party should concentrate on selling the ideas of the party to make it formidable to win the election of 2024.
He noted that when a teacher trainee who is a TESCON member, is in a special unique position to make sure that the New Patriotic Party succeeds all the time.
Assuring the teacher trainees, the western regional minister urged them to work hard for the party as the NPP continues to reward hardworking and faithful TESCON members.
Notwithstanding Hon. Darko-Mensah indicated to them that if the teacher trainees believe in the party very well, and not just talk about belonging to the party, but also work for the party, then the party will never leave them behind.
“The people you serve will continue to reward you, so young people as you are, I want you to take, not just your politics seriously, but I want you also to take the NPP party seriously”, he added.
He said the New Patriotic Party uses freedom of enterprise, life, and prosperity to advance its position on any matter at any time a party member is making any arguments.
Moreover, they believe that when having education, they should be able to use the skills of education to prosper, whereas believing in life the NPP implemented a policy like national health insurance to make sure the national health insurance works.
Emphasizing the arrival of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which includes AI, the internet many things that talk about how they can prosper in the future, the Western regional minister encouraged youth to take advantage of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
He made this known during a TESCON general meeting and orientation program yesterday at the Holy Child College Of Education in the Sekondi Constituency of the Western Region.
Meanwhile, the current Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture who doubles as the Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, Hon. Andrews Kofi Egyapa Mercer, addressing the TESCON members at the Holy Child College of Education said that 2024 is a destiny election where it is a choice between the past and the current administration.
He cited what would be the need of somebody who had the opportunity to govern the country, woefully, kept the nation in darkness for four years, bankrupted the country, and borrowed so much money.
He re-echoed that the Ghanaian citizens slept in darkness for four years when they kicked the then government out and brought the New Patriotic Party to government.
“The choice is very clear, 2024 should be more important to us than any people in government that in 2020 when we were in position because we are at a crossroads”, Hon. Mercer to TESCON members.
The Sekondi MP emphasized that if the NPP members including TESCON members make the mistake of not working hard, not chattering the message of the party, not propagating their message to reach people in their homes, in their bedrooms, under their beds, chasing them wherever they are, then their future, and the future of posterity would be at risk.
The Sekondi Member of Parliament HON. KOFI EGYAPA MERCER highlighted that 2024 should be more important to the NPP people in government than in 2016 when they were in opposition.
Meanwhile, the Western Regional TESCON Coordinator of the NPP, Berima Kofi Opare, in his welcome address emphasized the importance of the TESCON General Meeting with the Teacher Trainees at the Holy Child College Of Education as the party is in preparation ahead of the 2024 general election.
He indicated that the essence of the general meeting was to keep the teacher trainees abreast with the need to cast their vote for the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 December polls.
Again the General Meeting also let the teacher trainees know how threatening John Dramani Mahama is to the nation of Ghana.
Berima Kofi Opare indicated that the alternative which is the incompetent former president John Dramani Mahama did not live well with the teacher trainees during his era as he cancelled “Teacher Trainee Allowance” in collaboration with the then Education Minister, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyeman.
According to him, aside from developmental projects, NPP is the only political party that brings good initiatives that unburden the livelihood of the poor.
