Residents of Wa, the Upper West regional capital, are threatening to ban politicians from campaigning in the area unless urgent action is taken to halt the killings of innocent citizens.
This threat follows the discovery of another murder victim in the early hours of Monday, July 15, 2024. The deceased, a driver’s mate in his late thirties, was found murdered near the truck he had accompanied to discharge goods at a warehouse.
Residents, speaking to Channel One News, expressed their fear and frustration over the ongoing killings, stating they would not welcome any politicians until a solution is found to address the menace.
The recent killing brings the number of victims to 14, all believed to have been murdered by a suspected syndicate operating in Wa since 2022.
