Irish police seize €3m worth of cocaine in Dublin operation
Irish police, known as Gardaí, have confiscated cocaine valued at €3m (£2.5m) during a search operation in Clondalkin, Dublin.
The operation, conducted at a residence on Tuesday, resulted in the arrest and charging of a man in his 30s under drug legislation.
He appeared in court on Thursday and was remanded in custody without applying for bail.
Following this, Gardaí conducted additional searches in Dublin 10 and Dublin 12 on Wednesday.
These operations led to the seizure of more cocaine, estimated at €2,500 (£2,110), along with €1,600 in cash (£1,350).
Six scrambler motorcycles were also confiscated during the searches.
A woman in her 30s was arrested and charged in connection with these seizures.
Detective Superintendent Tomás Gormley praised the efforts of local Gardaí, supported by the Dublin Crime Response Team and National Support Services, stating, “The detrimental impact of the sale and supply of drugs as well as the illegal activities of organised crime groups cannot be underestimated.”
He emphasized the commitment to dismantling such activities in the wider Clondalkin and Ballyfermot area.
