Economist Peter Terkper has urged the government to improve on existing revenues without introducing new measures in the mid-year budget review.
His comments come ahead of the Finance Minister’s presentation of the mid-year budget later this month.
Speaking in an interview, Mr. Terkper said businesses have been badly affected by the current economic conditions stressing that there are enough taxes that could be regulated to generate the needed revenue.
Mr. Terkper urged the Bank of Ghana to collaborate with Fintechs to track all funds coming into the country.
This, he said, will enhance access to more forex to curb the depreciating cedi.
