Taxi driver shot dead by armed robbers in Ashanti Region

A 37-year-old taxi driver, by name Amos Adusei, was fatally shot by suspected armed robbers on the Kwaman-Boaman road in the Ashanti region.

A 37-year-old taxi driver, identified as Amos Adusei, was fatally shot by suspected armed robbers on the Kwaman-Boaman road in the Afigya Kwabre North district of the Ashanti region.

The incident, which occurred on Saturday night, has left the local community in shock.

Residents report that while the area has experienced several robbery incidents, this is the first time a victim has been shot and killed.

Isaac Adusei, the Assembly member for the Ahenkro electoral area and brother of the deceased, confirmed the incident. He stated that the body of his brother has been taken to the morgue, and police have begun their investigation.

“It was yesterday [Sunday] around 11:15 that I received a call from a colleague informing me that my brother had an accident on the Kwaman-Boaman road. When I arrived, it was clear that it wasn’t just an accident, but a gunshot wound. The armed robbers attacked him, and we took him to the hospital,” Isaac Adusei explained.

He further mentioned that the police conducted their report at their house and later visited the mortuary where the body was kept. “The police indicated that they would perform the postmortem today at around 10 am. After the postmortem, the body will be handed over to the family,” he added.
