Ghana to Compete in Group F for 2025 AFCON Qualification
Ghana’s Black Stars will compete in Group F for a spot at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. They will face Sudan, Angola, and Niger in their qualifying campaign.
The Black Stars will encounter a familiar opponent in Sudan, now managed by former Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah.
This draw mirrors the 2023 AFCON qualifiers, where Otto Addo’s team faced Angola. Ghana will also take on Niger, a team they last met at the 2013 African Cup of Nations.
As four-time champions, Ghana aims to secure a top-two finish in the group to ensure their 11th consecutive AFCON finals appearance.
The qualifiers will begin in September this year, determining the first 24 nations out of the 48 that will participate in Africa’s premier football event.
The Confederation of African Football has scheduled the next edition to commence on December 21, 2025, and conclude on January 18, 2026. Ivory Coast, the defending champions, won the 2023 edition with a 2-1 victory over Nigeria.
