CLOGSAG Strike Halts Operations at Key Ministries
Activities at several ministries have come to a standstill due to the ongoing industrial action by the Civil and Local Government Staff Association (CLOGSAG).
A visit to the Ministry of Sanitation and Water Resources, the Ministry of Trade and Industry, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture, and the Ministry of Works and Housing revealed no activity, with individuals seeking services being turned away.
CLOGSAG initiated this strike on Wednesday, July 3, in response to the government’s failure to implement the new salary structure agreed upon in 2022.
Security personnel at the Ministry of Trade and Industry noted that several people have been turned away due to the strike.
They stated that no work is being done and anyone who arrives is sent back.
In the Ashanti region, the strike is significantly impacting services as it enters its second day.
Many individuals seeking services from the striking workers were left stranded on the first day.
The leadership in the Ashanti region is resolute in their demands, ensuring no member defies the strike.
At the Asokwa Municipal Assembly, CLOGSAG executives have locked offices and are present to enforce compliance.
Dickson Frimpong, the CLOGSAG chairman for Asokwa Municipal, stated that the strike is proceeding well, with members not present and anyone who comes to work being turned away.
