The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) has confirmed the ongoing eviction of squatters from its parcel of land in Kpone.
This move comes amidst media reports mistakenly suggesting that the land belonged to B5 Plus Company.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, June 26, the GBC clarified its ownership of the land and asserted its mandate to remove unauthorized occupants.
The corporation emphasized that the eviction exercise, led by the Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly, is a legitimate effort to protect its property.
The GBC highlighted that the land had become a hotspot for nefarious activities, tarnishing the corporation’s image.
Despite prior notifications to the squatters about the eviction, they have refused to vacate the property.
The corporation also urged all media houses to refrain from disseminating false information regarding the eviction exercise.
