Justina Hagan of Dolphins Swim Team Named Best Swimmer in 18+ Category
Justina Hagan of the Dolphins Swim Team was picked as the best swimmer in her age division, 18 and above following her impressive performances in the just-ended Ghana Swim League meet of champions.
Hagan won 7 gold medals in events including 100 and 50m Breaststroke for ages 18 and above.
The Dolphins Swim team won 20 medals in total. 12 gold, 5 silvers, and 3 bronze placing outside the top 3.
Other key performers included 13-year-old Yemen Cornie, who broke the long-standing record set by Oduma Agyei 3 years ago, the best female swimmer in Ghana in the girl’s 200m Breaststroke.
Yemen Cornie won a gold and 3 silvers in:
50m breaststroke silver
100m breaststroke silver
200m breaststroke gold
400m Individual Medley (IM) Silver.
Jeduah Joel Nantomah, a 12-year-old also managed to win 4 medals throughout the event.
50m butterfly – silver
100m butterfly – silver
200m butterfly – gold
400mIM – bronze.
Johnson Cornie, brother of Yemen won 3 gold medals. He remains the record holder for this event in the age category of 11, winning gold medals in 50m breaststroke, 100breaststrokeke, and 200m breaststroke.
Gh Dolphins came first after the 2 Day event winning over 104 medals in total. They also received a cash prize of two thousand dollars for their impressive performances.
Marlins Swim team placed as runners-up with Ghana Aquatic Master finishing 3rd.
