Dolphins Swim Team Clinches 12 Medals On Day 1 Of The Ghana Swimming Competition
The ultra-modern aquatic center at the Boteyman Sports Complex today hosted the second edition of the Ghana Swimming League with over 500 swimmers participating in various events.
Day 1 saw all 13 qualified teams taking part in various disciplines including 200m Backstroke, 100m Breaststroke, 50m Breaststroke, 200m Butterfly, 100m Freestyle, 100m Individual Medley, 50m Butterfly, and 4*50m Mixed Freestyle Relay.
The 13 teams had Ghana Dolphins, Marlins, Legon Swimming Club, Ghana Aquatic Masters, Torpedo, Blue Fins, Monarch Swim Club, Team Seals, and Lincoln Community School are from the Greater Accra region.
African Sharks represented the Ashanti region while the Dolphins Swim Team pulled up for the Western Region.
The Dolphins Swim Team secured 12 medals in today’s events, marking a promising start ahead of the final day tomorrow.
11-year-old Johnson Cornie won the initial two gold medals in his 100 and 50m Breaststroke boys events and subsequently added silverwares.
Justina Hagan, who promised 6 gold medals in the ongoing Ghana Swimming League picked up 4 gold and a silver in events including 100 and 50m Breaststroke for ages 18 and above.
Joel Jeduah was not missing in action after picking up a gold medal in the boy’s 200m butterfly event.
