Shama: Kwamina Afful Supports BECE Candidates with 2,650 Mathematical Sets

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate in the Shama Constituency, Mr. Kwamina Afful, has donated 2,650 mathematical sets to Basic Education Certification Examination candidates in the constituency, with a call on them to be dedicated to their studies.

68 schools, comprising both private and public schools, benefited from the MP’s donation.

The stationery is to aid the candidates participating in this year’s BECE to write the exams successfully.

According to the Member of Parliament, this gesture forms part of measures to ensure the candidates did not lack the learning inputs required for the examination.

“The school children would need maths set in their examinations. Once I am a parliamentary candidate for the NPP in Shama, every child is worth thinking about. I decided to help them get this because it can help them attain good grades.

We are giving about 2,650 mathematical sets to 68 schools in the constituency. It’s time to write the BECE.”

Mr. Kwamina Afful, speaking to the media, said he is committed to the growth of education and uses this means to empower schoolchildren in the area.

He expressed optimism about the Shama district excelling in the BECE results.

“I’m very certain that the students will excel this year, as everything indicates that the teachers have done a good job preparing them for these exams. I have encouraged them to work hard and bring glory to the Shama Constituency,” He added.

Gratitude

Marie Dadzie, the headmistress of Shama Methodist JHS, said the donation was timely as some of the parents couldn’t afford such stationery for their wards.

She said the gesture was enough motivation for the students to work hard and pass the exams.

“We are grateful to Nana Kwamina Afful for this donation because some of the parents cannot afford to provide their wards with basic stationery due to financial constraints. By giving them this mathematical set, we know they (the students) are happy, and the teachers too are excited. I believe it will help them in their examinations.” She said.
