In a heartfelt message, Kennedy Agyapong, former presidential aspirant of the NPP, underscored the critical need for unity within the party.

In a heartfelt message delivered on his 64th birthday, Kennedy Agyapong, the Member of Parliament for Assin Central and former presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), underscored the critical need for unity within the party.

Celebrating at his campaign office in Accra, Mr Agyapong asserted that there are no factions of “Ken Agyapong supporters” or “Bawumia supporters,” but only “NPP supporters.”

Kennedy Agyapong, known for his forthrightness, began by apologizing to his core supporters for not adequately informing them of his decision to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia‘s campaign in Kumasi. He emphasized that the NPP’s victory hinges on party unity and urged his supporters to recognize this crucial fact.

In a significant appeal, Ken Agyapong called on Dr. Bawumia’s campaign team and supporters to reciprocate his gesture of reconciliation and to avoid any harassment of his followers. Speaking in the presence of NPP Chairman Mr. Stephen Ayensu Ntim, Mr Agyapong highlighted the importance of prioritizing party unity over individual loyalties.

He urged all NPP members to put aside their differences and work towards the party’s shared goal of ‘Breaking the 8.’ Kennedy Agyapong stressed the need for NPP supporters to unite and consolidate their efforts, disregarding any divisions from the presidential primaries.

Ken Agyapong’s call for unity comes at a pivotal time when political parties worldwide are grappling with internal divisions. His message resonated deeply with many party members, who understand the necessity of a harmonious and united front within the NPP.

As the party prepares for the 2024 elections, Mr Agyapong’s rallying cry reinforces the importance of collective success. He emphasized that NPP members should remain dedicated to the party’s goals above personal affiliations or competing aspirations. The onus is now on party members to respond to this call, welcome constructive criticism, and join forces to achieve electoral success in 2024.
