Put In Place a Social Support System For Mental Health – Government Urged

As Ghana joins the rest of the globe in observing mental health today, the government is to put in place a social support system for mental health.

According to the General Manager of Basic Needs Ghana, Peter Yaaro, if the measure legalizing the commercial cultivation of cannabis is passed, it will not only widen the gap between those who can access mental health care and those who can rely on victim support services, but it will also result in the government having to spend more money than it expects to make from the production.

According to him, the government must move cautiously in its effort to imitate other nations that have legalized marijuana cultivation because those nations have strong social safety nets and health care systems.

Meanwhile, the government as well as the private sector has been urged to develop and incorporate mental health policies and programs in their establishments.

Issues of mental illness are to be taken seriously in the corporate world to bring the needed growth.

In an interview with the media, business mogul, Micheal Amakwaah stated that success comes when an individual feels good about analyzing situations and makes the right decisions to solve challenges facing an organization.

He further urged individuals to balance their physical health, mental health, and spirituality to boost their mental capabilities.
