Over 100 students awarded scholarship to study nursing

Over 100 students in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North region have been awarded scholarships to pursue 3-year courses at Royal Nursing College, Kumasi.

The students were randomly selected from various communities in the municipality to study diploma in general nursing, midwifery, and a certificate in nursing.

As part of the scholarship package, tuition fees have been fully covered; however, students would only be responsible for their accommodation costs.

Delivering the admission letters and the scholarship packages to the prospective students, the MCE, Hon. Paul Andoh, indicated that the scholarships emanated from the Otumfour Education Fund.

He expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Royal Majesty, Otumfour Osei Tutu ll, for the offer, adding, “Initially, 35 slots were granted to the Municipal Assembly, but the MP and MCE negotiated for additional slots, and the number shot up to 100,” the MCE asserted.

Mr. Andoh also noted that the facility was given to the entire region, but the allocation for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai has been phenomenal as a result of the good relationship between the leadership of the municipality and the scholarship secretariat.

The students were therefore encouraged to study hard to come out with flying colors and lead morally upright lives since they were the ambassadors of the municipality.

“Your attitudes could derail the fortunes of the younger generation,” the MCE stressed.

The beneficiary students expressed appreciation for the offer and promised to work hard and behave well both on campus and outside campus.

Royal Nursing College is located at Tafo Nhyiaeso and is affiliated with the University of Cape Coast and Royal King’s College, United Kingdom.
