Bagbin urges restriction of Military Officers at polling stations in December elections

The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has highlighted the importance of restricting the military from polling stations in the upcoming December 7 general elections.
Bagbin announced that he would engage the President, political party flagbearers, security services, and other stakeholders to ensure free, fair, and credible elections.
In his opening remarks in Parliament on Tuesday, June 11, Bagbin emphasized that the military should stay away from polling and voting centers unless specifically called upon to address a situation.
He stated that the military should not be present at polling or voting centers, and if their intervention is necessary, they will be summoned.
Bagbin also mentioned that the clergy and notable civil society leaders will be actively involved in the process, noting that the current atmosphere in the country does not reflect assurance and hope.
