Organised Labour demands a resolution regarding the use of workers’ funds by SSNIT

Organised Labour

Organised Labour is calling for an amicable resolution regarding the management of workers’ funds by the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT).

They criticize SSNIT’s recent actions and inactions, which they find unsatisfactory. Dr. Isaac Bampoe-Addo, Executive Secretary of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), stated that Organised Labour believes it could manage pensions more effectively than SSNIT.

Dr. Bampoe-Addo emphasized that they are unconvinced by SSNIT’s explanations and has expressed clear dissatisfaction.

They are demanding a complete restructuring of SSNIT, criticizing its current management of workers’ funds as inadequate.

He questioned why the government should appoint the SSNIT board chair, stressing that the funds in question are workers’ money, not government money.
