Mahama criticizes the NPP for overseeing the country’s worst road conditions

Mahama

Former President John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has criticized the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for overseeing a decline in the quality of roads across the country.

Contrary to the Nana Addo government’s assertion of significant improvements in the road sector, Mahama contends that major roads have been neglected, leading to a worsened traveling experience for many Ghanaians.

Speaking at an event in Hamile, Upper West region, to offer condolences to the family of the late Zakaria Saana Dramani, former Lambusie constituency chairman of the NDC, Mahama highlighted the poor state of some key roads in the northern regions.

He noted that essential routes like the one to Techiman, vital for regional trade, have deteriorated during the current administration, citing examples such as the Wa-Sawla, Bole-Bamboi, and Bamboi Techiman roads which are in poor condition and have received little government attention.

Mahama criticized the government’s tendency to prioritize propaganda over addressing the country’s development needs.

He emphasized the need for substantive action rather than repetitive messaging.

Expressing concern over the state of affairs, Mahama urged Ghanaians to reject the NPP in the upcoming December elections, portraying it as an opportunity to steer the country away from what he perceives as mismanagement under the Nana Addo-Bawumia administration.
