Afronita and Abigail clinched third place at the 2024 BGT

Ghanaian dance duo Afronita and Abigail claimed third place after a challenging finale in the 2024 Britain’s Got Talent competition.

Throughout the contest, their captivating performances and inspiring story showcased the talent and resilience of Ghana and Africa on a global stage.

In the finals held on Sunday, June 2, their vibrant performance, adorned in Ghanaian colors, secured them a spot in the top three out of ten finalists. Despite landing third, their achievement was significant, representing Africans prominently in the international arena.

The pair received overwhelming support from Ghanaians, both locally and internationally. The diverse finalists included a choir, a magician, and a Japanese skipping group.

Ultimately, Sydnie Christmas claimed the top spot, with Jack Rhodes in second place and Abigail and Afronita in third.

The judging panel, comprising Simon Cowell, Bruno Tonioli, Alesha Dixon, and Amanda Holden, along with hosts Ant and Dec, presided over the show’s conclusion. The winner of the 17th series of BGT not only receives a cash prize of £250,000 but also earns the opportunity to perform at the Royal Variety Performance.

The public had the chance to vote during the live show, enabling viewers at home to have their say in determining the winner.
