Afronita and Abigail reach the Britain’s Got Talent finale with a stunning performance
Ghanaian dancing duo Afronita and Abigail wowed the audience and fans at home with their performance on Britain’s Got Talent.
Dance teacher Afronita, 20, and her protégé Abigail, seven, secured a spot in Sunday’s final after winning the public vote in the fourth semi-final on Thursday.
Their electrifying Azonto routine to “Brighter Days” by Sigala thrilled the Eventim Apollo audience, whose cheers were so loud that judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, and Bruno Tonioli could barely hear themselves speak.
Simon even admitted he had changed his mind about who he thought would win, suggesting Afronita and Abigail had a real shot at victory.
Afronita met young Abigail, a talented deaf dancer, when she started her own studio. Their performance on Thursday night was met with deafening applause, underscoring their impact on the audience.
Alesha Dixon praised their performance, saying, “Sometimes there aren’t enough words to articulate how an act makes you feel because the audience says it for us. So much natural sauce, so much flavour, so much personality, so much joy that you just brought to the Britain’s Got Talent stage. I would love to see you in the final.”
Afronita expressed her gratitude, saying, “I feel blessed. I feel so blessed to be here and to see the audience on their feet, the judges happy. It’s crazy. And I know she feels the same way,” gesturing to Abigail.
Viewers at home shared the enthusiasm, with one commenting on X (formerly Twitter), ‘Hope they make the final! Not only very talented dancers, they make you want to get up and dance with them. So joyful Abigail and Afronita,”
