Otto Addo announces Ghana squad for Chad and Madagascar games
Ghana coach, Otto Addo has announced 23-man squad for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar this month.
The Black Stars face their counterparts from Chad and Madagascar in the last round of the qualifiers with Ghanaians expecting the team to snatch all points to secure a slot in the next year’s World Cup to be held in Mexico, USA and Canada.
Arsenal midfielder and Black Stars captain, Thomas Partey has made a return to the squad after his last outing in September, 2024.
Aside Thomas Partey, other notable faces in the squad include Mohammed Kudus, Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams and Alexander Djiku.
Unfortunately, twelve players have been ruled out of Black Stars squad to face Chad and Madagascar in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers scheduled for this month.
They include Tariq Lamptey, Alidu Seidu, Majeed Ashmeru, Daniel Kofi-Kyere, Brandon Thomas-Asante and Abdul Mumin.
Others are Joseph Aidoo, Abdul Munaf Nurudeen, Abdul Fatawu Issahaku, Baba Iddrisu, Ibrahim Sulemana and Joseph Paintsil.
The aforementioned players were not included in coach Otto Addo’s 23-man squad for the Chad and Madagascar games scheduled for March 21 and March 24, 2025 respectively.
According to the Ghana Football Association, the twelve players have been ruled out of the two games due to various injury situations.
After failing to secure qualification in the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, Ghanaians are expecting Otto Addo and his charges to win the two games to get Ghana a slot in the next year’s World Cup to be held in Mexico, USA and Canada.
Ghana is currently sitting second in a group of Comoros, Mali, Central African Republic, Chad and Madagascar with nine points after four matches.
