Ambulance trial: Godfred Dame scheming to imprison Ato Forson -Sammy Gyamfi
Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has revealed that Attorney General, Godfred Dame orchestrated a plan to imprison Minority Leader Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.
This claim surfaced during the cross-examination of the third accused, Richard Jakpa, in the ongoing ambulance case on Thursday, May 23.
Sammy Gyamfi addressed the media following the court proceedings, revealing that the Attorney General has allegedly been contacting Richard Jakpa at odd hours, pressuring him to provide incriminating testimony against Forson.
“We have repeatedly stated that Hon Ato Forson is innocent and that this case is unwarranted. The Minority Leader has presented and concluded his defense. Currently, the third accused is under cross-examination by Forson’s lawyers,” Sammy Gyamfi said.
Mr Gyamfi expressed shock at Richard Jakpa’s courtroom revelation that the Attorney General, Godfred Dame has been personally reaching out to him, both by phone and in person, urging him to deliver false testimony to ensure Forson’s conviction.
“He [Jakpa] disclosed in open court that the Attorney General has been asking him to skew his testimony to align with the AG’s case against the first accused, aiming to secure a conviction and jail sentence for Hon Ato Forson,” Gyamfi reported.
