NDC raises concerns about the voter registration figures released by EC
Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has raised doubts about the voter registration figures released by the Electoral Commission (EC).
Contrary to the EC’s report of 25,287 registered voters on Day 2, Dr. Boamah claims the NDC recorded a lower figure of 19,267.
Additionally, he disputes the EC’s total registration figure of 43,417 for Day 3, asserting that the actual number of registered voters is 48,616.
As of May 10, the EC reports a total of 143,014 registered voters. Regional registration figures include 17,837 from Greater Accra, 3,948 from North East, 6,691 from Upper East, 10,373 from Northern, 4,900 from Bono, 5,118 from Bono East, 7,512 from Volta, 5,256 from Upper West, 14,884 from Eastern, 15,434 from Central, 3,889 from Ahafo, and 25,558 from Ashanti.
Additional registrations include 5,638 from Western North, 4,206 from Oti, 2,989 from Savannah, and 8,781 from the Western region.
The EC is working to achieve its registration target before the exercise concludes.
