Miss USA resigns title due to mental health reasons
Miss USA Noelia Voigt has stepped down from her position, citing mental health reasons.
Voigt, who claimed the crown in September, emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental and physical well-being.
In an Instagram post, she advised, “Never compromise your physical and mental wellbeing,” and stressed that “Our health is our wealth.”
The Miss USA organization expressed support for her decision and announced plans to name a new titleholder.
Voigt, a 24-year-old Venezuelan-American from Utah, spoke of beginning “a new chapter” in life while continuing to inspire others and advocate for mental health.
She expressed gratitude for her time as Miss USA, calling it a “lifelong dream” that provided a platform to make a positive impact and connect with people worldwide.
Miss USA thanked Voigt for her contributions and stated that the well-being of titleholders is a priority.
The organization is currently planning the transition to a new successor.
Savannah Gankiewicz of Hawaii, the runner-up in last year’s competition, will likely play a significant role in the transition process.
