IES challenges Akufo-Addo’s claim on Ghana’s power issue resolution
Nana Amoasi VII, Executive Director of the Institute of Energy Security (IES), has contradicted President Akufo-Addo’s claim that Ghana has effectively resolved its erratic power supply issue, commonly known as “dumsor.”
Despite the President’s assertion during the recent May Day celebration in Accra, Nana Amoasi VII cautioned that the situation does not reflect the President’s confident statements.
In an interview on Citi FM, Nana Amoasi VII highlighted ongoing power outages in various areas, including Weija, Ekumfi, Mankessim, Nungua, and Tema Community 2 and 25.
He emphasized the need for the President’s statements to align with the reality of the power situation, expressing concern that the President’s advisors might not be providing accurate information.
Nana Amoasi VII urged caution in the President’s pronouncements, warning that they could mislead the public about the true state of Ghana’s power supply.
He stressed the importance of accurate information and urged the President’s handlers to provide him with a clear understanding of the ongoing issues.
