Ejisu by-election underway to fill John Kumah’s vacant seat
Voting is now underway across all 204 polling centers in Ejisu to select a successor for the late MP and Deputy Finance Minister, John Kumah, who passed away on March 7, 2024.
Six candidates, including three independents, are vying for the highly anticipated by-election. With 106,812 eligible voters expected to participate, former three-time NPP Member of Parliament for the constituency, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, is notably running as an Independent Candidate.
Despite facing allegations of betrayal, Aduomi remains confident about his chances in the by-election.
In a notable moment this morning, elderly resident Lydia Yaa Achaa, with the assistance of her daughter, defied her age to make her way to the polling center and cast her vote.
While unable to recall her exact age, she emphasized the importance of her vote and expressed gratitude towards independent candidate Aduomi for his support.
