Akufo-Addo denies NPP’s role in influencing the Ejisu by-election

President Akufo-Addo strongly rejects accusations that the New Patriotic Party plans to manipulate the upcoming Ejisu by-election.

In his address to voters, he urged them to dismiss such claims made by the Independent Parliamentary Candidate, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi.

Akufo-Addo emphasized that the NPP did not manipulate past elections to secure Aduomi’s two-term tenure as Member of Parliament for the Ejisu Constituency.

Expressing surprise at Aduomi’s decision to contest as an Independent Candidate, Akufo-Addo called it “murky” and questioned the fairness of alleging election rigging when Aduomi himself had won in the past without such claims.

He also voiced opposition to independent candidates with undisclosed backgrounds, expressing uncertainty about external influences on their decisions.

Akufo-Addo also urged Ejisu residents to reject Aduomi’s claims of spearheading road infrastructure projects, stating that he oversees all road projects nationwide.

Speaking at the NPP’s final rally in Ejisu before the by-election, Akufo-Addo appealed to voters to support the party’s candidate, Kwabena Boateng, to maintain a parliamentary majority.

NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia added that voting for Kwabena Owusu Aduomi would effectively support the National Democratic Congress, alleging NDC sponsorship of Aduomi’s candidacy.
