Public elementary schools to be repainted blue and white
The Minister of Education, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has unveiled government plans to transform the appearance of all public basic schools.
The current brown and yellow color scheme will be replaced with a fresh palette of blue and white as part of a comprehensive rebranding strategy. This initiative aims to uplift the aesthetic appeal of schools across the nation.
Dr. Adutwum emphasized that this endeavor is just one component of a broader agenda to revitalize basic education in the country and enhance its overall attractiveness.
Speaking at the “The Free SHS Story” forum held in Accra on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, the minister underscored the significance of this transformation for Ghana.
Furthermore, Dr. Adutwum announced plans to update the uniforms worn by students in public basic schools.
The traditional yellow and brown uniforms will be replaced to align with the new color scheme (blue and white), signaling a significant shift in the visual identity of these educational institutions.
By implementing these changes, the government seeks to demonstrate its commitment to enhancing education at all levels, addressing criticisms that its focus is solely on secondary education.
