SML denies KPMG’s GH¢1bn payment claim, calling it inaccurate

SML

Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd (SML) refutes claims of receiving GH¢1,061,054,778.00 in compensation for its contract with the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Following an audit ordered by President Akufo-Addo, KPMG reported that SML received this amount from 2018 onwards.

However, SML argues that KPMG’s figure overlooks the investments made and taxes paid during the contract period.

SML points out that KPMG’s failure to acknowledge that 31.5% of the total compensation went to GRA taxes, along with interest payments and investment repayment by SML, distorts the true nature of the financial relationship. SML considers this omission by KPMG highly misleading.
