John Mahama promises enhanced student loans for student nurses
The former President and the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has promised that the next NDC government will enhance the students Loan to meet the demand of all student nurses across the country.
He said the nurses will be put on the students loan scheme but will pay back the loan when they finish school and get employed into the public sector.
He made this promise to student nurses at Nalerigu, on his building the Ghana tour to the North East Region.
Mr Mahama added that when the NDC wins power on December 7th, they will take buses to transport people from the various regions across the country to Accra for the swearing in ceremony on 7th January 2025.
“For the mean time we’re going to enhance the student loan so that is able to meet your needs. Then we’re going to put you on the student loans scheme, give you the money so that you pay for your admission and we’re only going to collect the loan back when you get a job and you’re working”, he stated.
Former president while also reiterated that, the NPP did not deceive only nurses to get power into office in 2020 but rather they deceived the whole country, and that Ghanaians are disappointed about the current state of the economy.
“ I tell you not to feel disappointed in yourselves but know that you’re not the only people who were deceived. The whole of Ghana was deceived so don’t feel sorry at all”.
