A man believed to be in his 40s, identified as Kweku Mensah, also known as Allee, reportedly took his own life in Assin Bosomadwe, Central Region, after consuming paint and weedicide.
The incident occurred following threats of divorce from his wife, leading to a series of misunderstandings and fights.
According to information from news sources, the deceased, a professional mason, had been visibly troubled and not himself since his wife mentioned separation.
On Tuesday evening, neighbors heard him screaming for help, prompting them to rush to his room where they found him in a critical condition.
A container of weedicide and paint was found beside him, indicating that he might have ingested the chemicals.
Despite being rushed to the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
The case has been reported to the Abura Dunkwa Police Station for investigation, while the body of the deceased has been placed at the Abura Dunkwa Government Hospital Mortuary for autopsy.
