The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of three officers in a fatal accident that occurred on Wednesday, March 27.
The accident took place at Kyekyewere in the Ashanti Region along the Accra-Kumasi Highway, resulting in the untimely deaths of three officers of the Service.
A video capturing the incident shows a white police Jeep from the Formed Police Unit (FPU) positioned in a bush, with its doors open.
Bloodstains are visible in the nearby bushes, indicating the severity of the accident.
While the cause of the accident remains unclear, the Police Service stated in a Wednesday evening statement that the officers lost their lives while en route to Police operational duties.
The Police Service has pledged to share additional information once the families of the deceased officers have been formally notified.
