Western Regional Minister Assures Completion of Key Projects for Development
Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, Western regional minister, has assured that the government is committed to completing all projects, which it invested in due course.
These projects are made up of transport infrastructure and other others.
Notable among these projects, is the Takoradi Market Circle, and the others which seemed abandoned.
Mr. Darko Mensah also mentioned some roads dotted across the region that are undergoing completion.
The regional minister, Kwabena Okyere Darko Mensah, also indicated that he has been given the green light to complete all GETFUND projects.
“The government, under the Global Partnership for Education, secured funding for improving equitable access to and quality of basic education in the region.
“However, there are a number of uncompleted school projects, and the government has given the green light to complete all GETFUND projects by the close of the year to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.”
“I wish to also emphasize that the government has invested in a number of development projects. Specific mention is made of the Takoradi Habour Expansion, Western Railway Line Rehabilitation, Western Corridor Gas Infrastructure Development, Western Region Water Supply, Paa Grant Dualization of Sekondi-Takoradi Link Road, Agona Nkwanta to Tarkwa Road (which is almost completed), Takoradi Market Circle, and GNPC Operation Headquarters (in its completion stage), among others.
“On this note, let me assure you that the Takoradi Market Circle Redevelopment Project, which and others seemed abandoned, will be completed in due course.
In the same vein, we are in contact with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to consider the completion of the following priority roads in the region:
Takoradi (PTC) Interchange; Takoradi-Agona Nkwanta dual carriage; Apowa-Mpohor; Bawdie-Asankragwa; Bogoso-Prestea; Gwira; Samenyi-Half-Assini; Shama Junction to Shama; Shama Junction to Aboadze, Asankragwa to Sefwi Bekwai; Asankragwa to Sameraboi; and Watrem to Adjakamanso,”
