Shama Constituency Set for Transformation: Emelia Arthur’s Vision for Education, Agriculture, and Infrastructure Development

Good education, improved agriculture, and the development of infrastructure are among the social interventions to be witnessed by the people of Shama.

In an interview on Spice FM with the host of the Morning Show, Ampem Darko, the parliamentary candidate for the Shama Constituency, Emilia Arthur, made it known that it is about time that the constituents of Shama see some development in agriculture, education, and the local economy.

She says she is determined to see the lives of her constituents improve and contribute to national development.

“Shama’s economy is hinged on agriculture. We have the fishermen and the farmers. The fishing job is very economical. You’ll see some form of development in Shama that was effected by these fishermen.

Access to premix fuel by the fishermen becomes uneasy, thereby affecting their work. They should work in peace, so I will ensure that the proper structures are put in place for the fishermen to access premix fuel.”

Value will be added to farm produce such as cassava, which can contribute to the local economy,”

Key among her policies is the welfare of women, children, and persons with disabilities.

Emelia Arthur believes that empowering the vulnerable in society goes a long way toward bringing about robust development.

She observed that under the current administration of the NPP, cocoa farmers in communities such as Essumankrom, Abotary3, and Beposo and its environs are being neglected in the supply of fertilizers.

On education, Madam Arthur mentioned that she has offered scholarships for brilliant but needy students in her constituency to further their education.

Madam Emelia Arthur said it is her dream to serve the people of Shama because she is one of their own.

“I hail from Shama; my father and mother also come from here. If I want to serve, it should be Shama and nowhere else,” she added.
